F.Y.P.1 ~ 4th Week: Sketch out the IDEAS

This week, I've figure out that I will choose a robot with Quadrapod concept to be build for my competition project. I choose this concept as I've been advised by my advisor, Mdm. Noor Hidayah Bt. Mohd Yunus, and several friend.

Quadrapod concept require a robot to be build with 4 legs as to move with high stability. This 4 legs will be controlled by 4 or 8 servo; which I still haven't decide on how much servo to be use for the robot. But I believe with this concept, it will make the robot move faster and gain high stability.

From the sketch, I've draw a Quadrapod robot based with 4 servo. It may seem balance, but I'm still unable to figure out for the speed and step for each movement.

Next week, I will go thru the I.C circuit and the movement for the Quadrapod robot. This I.C circuit will control the servo. It will program the robot to control movement to be smooth and faster.

F.Y.P.1 ~ 3rd Week: IDEAS!?

Owh well, I'm now on the 3rd week...

In this week I'm still making decision in planning to create the robot as to drop more detail into my proposal.

I've visit plenty webpage in searching for the previous robot project that been done by other student or even oversea's student; such as in www.lynxmotion.com and youtube.com. There is a lot of type of robotic that I've found. Those robots are really hi-tech and cool.

After I've view this video, it seems that this robot is very simple to build with 4 servo but it still need to do more improvement due to walking condition. As we know, the robot need to walk forward and reverse autonomously from end to end within the 7meter of line.

So, I'll continue in searching for the best method to propose a best robot for this final year project competition.

Hope I'll find the BEST idea that I ever have... :)

F.Y.P.1 ~ 2nd Week: New Update

Assalamualaikum :)

Here is my 2nd week update (sorry for a late update cause of a bit busy by this week).

In this week, I've been given a rough ideas about this project competition from my advisor (Mdm. Noor Hidayah Bt. Mohd Yunus).

She says that one of the qualification sizes for the robot must be less than 25cm x 25cm while the maze size is 12 by 12. The robot must walk in 7 foot straight line from end to end and will be calculate the number of loop (start to end) within 10 minutes.

As for the rules, no wheels are allowed to be use onto the robot include for rolling. The motors with max of 210 degree movement are allowed. Which mean the robot with motors of 360 degree movement are disqualify in this competition.

From the rules above, I've decide to get some ideas from any robot with a servo then will be upgrade as applicable for this competition.
